San Diego Strike Force ("Strike Force," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Strike Force Fan Zone mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:
- Create an account (name, email address, phone number, date of birth, ZIP code)
- Set up a profile (avatar, display preferences)
- Create child accounts under your parental supervision (child's display name, age, username)
- Complete surveys or questionnaires
- Make predictions about games
- Redeem promo codes
- Make purchases through our integrated merchandise store
- Contact us for support
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we automatically collect:
- Device information (device model, operating system, app version, unique device identifiers)
- Usage data (screens visited, time spent on each screen, features used, interactions with app elements)
- Session information (session duration, session frequency, app open/close times)
- Commercial activity data (products viewed, items added to cart, purchases completed, ticket page views)
- Engagement metrics (prediction history, player card collection activity, reward redemption history, check-in history, loyalty points transactions)
- Push notification interaction data (whether notifications were opened, time to open)
- Search queries within the App
1.3 Location Information
With your consent, we collect precise location data solely for the purpose of verifying your physical presence at Frontwave Arena for game day check-ins and loyalty point rewards. Location data is collected only when you actively initiate a check-in and is not collected in the background.
1.4 Information from Third-Party Services
If you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive your name and email address as provided by those services. We do not receive your passwords.
If you purchase merchandise, payment processing is handled entirely by Shopify. We do not receive or store your payment card information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features
- Process your account registration and manage your account
- Process merchandise orders and deliver digital tickets and rewards
- Operate the loyalty points program, predictions system, and player card collection
- Send push notifications about game updates, scores, promotions, and loyalty rewards (based on your notification preferences)
- Analyze usage patterns to improve the App experience, identify popular features, and fix issues
- Understand fan engagement and develop better content and promotions
- Personalize your experience based on your interests and activity
- Respond to your comments, questions, and customer support requests
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity
- Comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share information with companies that help us operate the App, including our hosting provider, push notification service, email/SMS delivery service, and payment processor (Shopify). These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may only use it to perform services on our behalf.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business Transfers: If the Strike Force or its parent entity is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- With Your Consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
- Aggregated or De-identified Data: We may share aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you with sponsors, partners, and the public.
We do not share your information with third-party advertising networks. The App does not display third-party advertisements.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
The App includes features for children through supervised "Kid Accounts" created and managed by a parent or legal guardian.
4.1 Parental Consent Required
Kid Accounts can only be created by an authenticated parent or guardian. Before any data is collected from a child, the parent must provide verifiable consent through the App.
4.2 Information Collected from Children
For Kid Accounts, we collect only: a display name (which may be a nickname), age (not date of birth), a username, and app usage data (predictions made, cards collected, points earned, screens visited). We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, or photos from children.
4.3 Parental Rights
Parents can at any time: review information collected from their child's account, delete their child's account and all associated data, and refuse further collection by deleting the Kid Account. To exercise these rights, use the Kids Management screen in the App or contact us at the address below.
4.4 Data Minimization for Children
We limit data collection from children to what is reasonably necessary to participate in the App's fan engagement features. We do not use children's data for advertising or share it with third parties.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including: encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure password hashing, encrypted storage of authentication tokens, and rate limiting to prevent abuse. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we anonymize your personal information immediately and permanently delete all associated data within 30 days.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Account Data
You can view and update your profile information at any time through the Profile screen. You can delete your account and all associated data through the app's settings (Delete My Data).
7.2 Notification Preferences
You can control which categories of push notifications you receive through the notification preferences in the App settings.
7.3 Location
You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings. This will prevent game day check-ins but will not affect other App functionality.
7.4 California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how we use it; request deletion of your personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion feature or contact us below.
8. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with:
- Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In (authentication)
- Shopify (merchandise purchases)
- SeatGeek (ticket browsing and purchases)
- Expo (push notifications and app infrastructure)
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services. Please review their respective privacy policies.
9. Children's Privacy
This app offers parent-managed Kids Accounts for children ages 5-17 in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). A parent or legal guardian must create and manage each Kids Account and provide verified parental consent before any data is collected from the child. Parents maintain full oversight of their children's accounts and may delete them at any time.
We collect only limited data from children using Kids Accounts: a username chosen by the parent, age range, and in-app activity such as player cards collected and points earned. We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, precise location data, or any other personal information from children. All points earned by children flow to the parent's account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 5. If you believe we have collected information from a child without proper parental consent, please contact us immediately at https://sdstrikeforce.com/app-support.
